Weekes Webisode One?!

That’s right, folks. I’ve been toying with the idea of incorporating some video episodes (webisodes?) into the blog (vlog?) about once a month? They’d be a maximum of 5 minutes long (this first one is only 1 min and 30 secs) of drivel that is similar to the written content on D&W. But you’d get to see my dumb face telling you stuff! And cats! Have a peek (at the first and possibly last?!) and lemme know what you think in the comments! Unless it’s mean. Don’t be mean! Mean YouTube people scare me!

I promise to return next week (maybe) with some written wordz.

  1. Oh my gosh. You are adorable. Yes, do more. I have pondered doing videos as well. I just don’t know what the hell I would talk about. That’s quite a huge stumbling block, but I’m sure I’ll find my way around it eventually.

  2. Weekes, I salute you! Because one thing I want to do this year is make a Beastie kit, and as a responsible craft enabler I know that it would be right and proper to include video tutorials to guide people through the tricky bits. But the thought of talking to a camera scares the BEJEEBUS out of me! Not you though… Go get ’em! You kind of have to now as well, because I subscribed to your channel 😉 Also, I appreciate the fact that you’re planning to keep the videos SHORT… I’d love to keep up with those good people out there who are making 1hr + podcasts/blogs, but I just don’t have time! Good luck with episode 2… Maybe Edward could be your special guest next time?

    • Oooooh you gotta do it! Maybe you could just film your hands and then have someone else doing the verbal commentary, guessing at what the hell you’re doing (‘and now I think she’s…. threading a needle? Aaaaaand… looks like she’s…. sewing on an eyeball?’). Awww thank you for subscribing to the land of neglected covers and songs from my old band! Only 94 subscribers to go (so, approximately 100 more years of me sticking videos up) and then I can get one of those ‘official’ YouTube channels! And I totes agree about video length. I’m currently trying to be supportive of someone who does these 15 minutes episodes, and I find that after 5 minutes I’m like, ‘Nope, I cannot go on.’ Worked on ep 2 yesterday, and I can assure you that Edward is present for the entire video hahaha….

      • Ha! I knew he wouldn’t be able to resist the lure of the limelight for long! And it sounds like you’re volunteering to do the commentary for my videos, when I get around to them sometime never… Thanks! You’ve sold me on the idea of guessing at what I’m doing as well – minimal input from me, maximum comedy value for everyone. Good luck with episode 2, and go get those 94 subscribers! 😀

      • Yes, Edward basks in the glow of the limelight like a furry Jabba the Hutt. And hahaha yassss.. my first voice over gig with guess-crafting! Can’t wait! Thanks again for watching and subscribing 🙂 🙂

  3. Awwww….Your nervous rambling is so cute…and brave! I could never put my ugly mug on video. Hell, I don’t even take selfies or allow anyone to photograph me (seriously, passport renewal time is a major crisis for me). I often think how fast I could get through my posts if I just read/video-ed them but since sometimes I scare myself when I see my reflection in the computer screen, I’d hate to subject anyone else to the fright show (ooh, but that could be an advantage for doing horror stories). And I like the fact that, according to the laws of the Interwebs, you’re already 100 steps ahead of the game by allowing the cat to steal the show!

    • Staaaahhhhpppppp! I am sure all of that is a big fat lie and you would be great in a video! But I really prefer reading posts anyway, so I don’t know why I am considering subjecting people to videos. Except, as you say, cats!!! Both kitties make an appearance in my next one, and I’m wearing my glasses and my hair looks horrendous and I didn’t think to take off my nasty flesh-toned sweatshirt so….

    • Why thank you, Shirley!! Jane is, of course, named after the wonderful heroine Jane Eyre, and I’ve found the name suits her quite well. Tune in next time to see her brother (but literary husband?), Edward Fairfax Rochester, enigmatically sleeping! 🙂
