Valentine Pop-Up, Baby!
Hey there! It’s me again, just in time for my favourite holiday! (No really, I love Valentine’s Day.)
So, it turns out that when I slipped and fell down a staircase at the end of December, I broke a rib. This also recently happened to another friend, so I’m going to put it down to perimenopause clumsies. Right? Right?!?
Anyway, I spent the first couple of weeks of the year not able to lie down. I took to madly crafting in my desk chair–the only semi comfortable position I could muster. I couldn’t really focus on the fiddly embroidery I usually do, so instead I went on a rampage of upcycling objects, paper, and nature bits I’ve collected over the years. Making use of all the jar-lids from my pickle obsession, decoupaging all the tincture bottles I’ve emptied, and making hair accessories out of all the discarded crown caps from my restaurant… I really went to town. Craft Town. Craftown?

I also worked on some ink and watercolour floral sketches.

It occurred to me that all these things would make such sweet love gifts for friends, family, and partners–so I’m doing a Valentine’s Day Pop-up at my favourite local nature store, Chicory Naturalist! The shop owner Chris is a wonderful human and curates the most fantastic things/events/community, so I am very honoured to share their space February 9th from 11am-5pm. I think this is also Super Bowl Sunday, but I assume there won’t be much crossover between these events unless my girl T-Swift is involved.

And, yes, there will also be embroidery.

Speaking of Chicory Naturalist, they are holding a t-shirt design contest–will you please take a moment and vote for my design?!? VOTE HERE! Thank you!!!!!!!

Okay, that is all (and quite enough) for now.
Sending love and light as always,
xW
